adventures in the south pacific pt. 2

Friday, June 29th, 2007

continued from part one.

most of the day wednesday was spent in the air conditioned room watching battlestar galactica. again, that fragging show comes up and yes, i do love it. i was content in spending a lazy afternoon inside, but luckily my aunt came in a grabbed me to go with them to yet another mall. my mom and another aunt went off to get facials. they were gonna meet up with us later.

at SM, this particular mall, there were lots of electronic stores. it was a tiny mall, basically one hallway with lots of stores all through. in L.A., i had lost the back cover to my phone. so i kept my eye out for cheap knock-off covers to replace it, and possibly get a new look for my phone. i have a sony ericsson W600i, and the only covers i’ve seen so far are the dark blue and orange it comes with. it wasn’t really that important that i replace the cover, but it was something to do. my aunts and uncle were shopping for a guitar. my uncle, my mom’s cousin’s husband from japan (did you follow that?) is actually a classical guitar player and was helping my aunt (my mom’s cousin - the sister of the cousin with the husband from japan - now, did you follow that?) find a guitar; she’s a music teacher here in the philippines. keep in mind, i love guitars and musical instruments, but they were taking quite a long time. so i ended up wandering around.

adventures in the south pacific pt. 1

my trip halfway ’round the world begins in southern california. i flew in to Long Beach after work on Thursday and got the chance to spend sometime with some friends. i partied it up a bit in West Hollywood with Wes on Friday, and Saturday had an amazing time at the Angels game with Missa and the crew. we tailgated it in the parking lot and spent most of the game being drunken fools with cameras and foot-long hot dogs. to be followed by Guitar Hero and more beer at Missa’s new pimped out pad. as i got home the next morning, it was off to the airport.

LAX was a crazy mess. Northwest Airlines had this long line that was out the door and down two or three airline check-ins. it didn’t even look like a line. it looked like a crowd of people waiting to get in. we went in and i asked one of the workers from NWA and she just pointed out the door and said that’s where the line is. after much confusion, my mom and i finally went outside and stood at the very end. it wasn’t long after, that another NWA worker came through the line and separated us into two somewhat decent looking lines based on the correct flights. it’s a good thing we went out there and stood at the end, because not long after we did, the line nearly doubled behind us.

48 Hours

Monday, June 18th, 2007

it’s been a crazy emotionally charged weekend, but i think i’ve come out of it with a really great film!

i am proud of everyone on the team, and we really pulled together created something new! the film evolved from a shitty script i threw together friday night and became it’s own creation.

it truly was a collaborative effort and wouldn’t exist without everyone giving their own input, improv, and re-writing their own scenes.

once the ball started rolling and we started filming, fun was had by all. at least i know i did! i hope i did just a great a job with the editing as everyone did with their own parts!

i can only hope my editing can do them justice.

i have amazing people in my life.

i’m going to try to get the film online soon and i’ll post it here!

48 Hour Film Project

Friday, June 8th, 2007

This is an open call for actors, filmmakers, editors, musicians, or anyone with talent or just enthusiasm to have some fun!

The 48 Hour Film Project takes place on June 15th through 17th. I expect to shoot the morning of Saturday, June 16th, for most of the day. Editing will take place Saturday night through Sunday up until the deadline time.

We have 48 hours to make a short 3-7 minute film based on certain criteria obtained at the kick-off party on Friday, June 15th.

Criteria (or elements) that will be chosen that night include:
- A Character
- A Prop
- A Line of Dialogue
- A Genre (to be chosen out of a hat at random)

My team is called Lame Title Productions and I already have a wonderful selection of talented people, but I’m always looking for more talent and production help!

We’re completely amateur and we’re just out to have some fun and make a film. This will be a no-budget production.

If you’d like to contribute any equipment or costumes, send me a message or email me at:

my Second Life

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

click for a larger image of my house

so i’ve been neglecting my Second Life lately. there’s just so much to do there and so little time here in my First Life.

i really want to finish the house i’m working on, and maybe build a new one. and there’s just still so much more to explore or people to meet. but it turns out that i’m just as shy in SL than i am in my first life.

i wonder why that is?

i hate you deeply

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

If you aren’t either A.) Exactly like me only a little worse at everything, or B.) A pathetic yes-man to my over-changing values and shallow opinions, it’s a pretty safe bet that… I HATE YOU DEEPLY

the acting and editing is a little off, but i totally enjoyed this. so much fun!
