this past memorial day weekend was “Our Own Space” (OOS). a bunch of friends from long beach and southern california throw this party out in the desert every year. i’ve been once three years ago when i’ve met these amazing people. it wasn’t long that i went to burning man, and then made my move to San Francisco.

it was great to see those guys again and hang out with them in the desert. it also gave me an opportunity to hang out with new friends from SF that came out with us. Mikey’s moved back to SF from Chicago recently and convinced us all to go out to OOS.

we rented a car, stayed out in Barstow on Friday. headed out to the Calico ghost town, then out to the desert Saturday through Monday.

i had an amazing time. i’m pretty much exhausted and i’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story. maybe i’ll write more later. or maybe i’ll just leave it at that.

check out this video on a pretty easy to make hovercraft. the idea is simple, and i wonder how easy it is to modify the concept to add steering and for use in the desert. this would make one rad way to get around at Burning Man!

so i’ve just read about this Project that was suggested at new year’s to take a photo each day for a year. i’m really behind in this aspect, i don’t even feel like taking photos when i’m out and about anymore! i’m really sucking in regards to art and photography.

but reading about this project is pretty neat. everyday, you should take a photo of something. each day it has to be unique. but one a day for one year will turn up a surprisingly neat collection and hopefully improve your skills as a photographer.

another spin on this is to take a picture of yourself for a year and piece them together. i’m interested to know what i look like as a year passes.

okay, so the acting’s pretty bad and the story is soaptastic. but i’m so addicted! check it out if you haven’t yet! the show updates daily, with 2-minute episodes, compiled at the end of the week. i prefer to watch it all in large lumps. but it’s nice to know i can get my daily dose if i feel like it.

he was the first real relationship i ever had. he was my first love. i guess you can say i never got over him. over what happened. and to this day i’m still dealing with issues from the aftermath. mostly because i’m still not really sure what happened, how it happened, and why it happened the way it did.

for 3 to 5 years, he disappeared. i say three to five, because during those first two years, we had some sort of random contact. via email or phone. when i moved to SF, i had to change my number, and there was no way to contact him to give him my new one. the number he gave me no longer worked. i had lost contact with him.
