do not call
i’ve been getting numbers from a mortgage company on my cell phone, then i noticed i was getting the same number at work at the front desk. except when it’s on my cell phone, and i let it go to voicemail, i get a message. i noticed it was the same number. i’d get the calls at the front desk quite a few times a day.
so naturally, i googled it and came across a great site where you can report unwanted numbers, which led me to the national do not call registry. of course, i immediately registered my cell phone. it’s rare that i get telemarketers calling my cell phone. so i thought it would be good to have it on the list just in case.
it’s annoying that i keep getting these calls. but it’s good to know there’s something i can do about it. i’m going to have to watch where i enter my phone number, especially if it’s my cell phone. for some reason, i thought that cell phones were off limits to telemarketers. i don’t know where i learned that from. but i guess i was wrong. it’s crazy to see this one number pop up on my cell phone and again at work. when i went to that site, it shows that there are a ton more people getting the same call. from all over. just from being a receptionist for awhile and being at the front desk here sometimes, telemarketers really bug me. especially if it’s a recording or if it’s half a dozen calls a day from the same number that hangs up when you answer the phone.
it’s just wrong. it’s poor marketing. it’s sloppy marketing. seriously, what is being done to stop this? how many lists must we put ourselves on to stop the spam, the annoying calls, the littering of unwanted paper advertisements that end up on our streets?
